MLA of Udhna constituency Manubhai Patel takes out rally, pledges to plant 1.11 lakh saplings on Independence Day

Surat (Gujarat) [India]: Colours were added to patriotism on the occasion of 77th Independence Day celebrations in Udhna, as the member of legislative assembly (MLA) of Udhna constituency, Manubhai Patel pledged to plant as many as 1.11 lakh saplings.

MLA Manubhai Patel took the oath in a rally organised on August 15, under the Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi-led initiative named ‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’, a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The rally led by MLA Patel was taken out in Udhna, Pandesara and Bhestaan areas, which witnessed the footfall of thousands of participants. The participants held the tricolour in their hands and hailed slogans of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’. Patel even distributed the tricolour to the commoners during this.

MLA Manubhai Patel not only took the oath to plant saplings during his upcoming 5-year long tenure, but also administered it to the other leaders of the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) present on the occasion. He said, ‘The initiative to plant 1.11 lakh saplings is aimed at conserving the environment and curb the increasing rate of pollution in the ecosystem’.

Towards the end of the rally, MLA Patel paid his tributes to all the valiant army-persons and freedom fighters, who sacrificed their life to bring independence to the nation.
