About Author Abhaidev

Abhaidev is the pen name of Mayank Chandna, an MDI Gurgaon alumnus and the author of 12 books, namely, The Influencer: Speed Must Have a Limit, The Gods Are Not Dead, 13 Minutes Before Midnight, The Meaninglessness of Meaning, etc. After working for a while in an investment bank, he took the plunge and quit that boring job of his to venture into the exciting world of writing, something he always wanted to do.

His penchant for continental philosophy and craze for progressive house and indie music has nettled his simple parents. He is an avid reader and devours classics and science books. Like most people with a DSLR, he loves flaunting his non-existent photography skills on social media platforms.

Abhaidev loves challenging his limits and believes that there is nothing nobler in this world than possessing an intense desire to learn. He seeks transcendence in the practice of art and hopes to pen down stories which are not run-of-the-mill.

’Anant: A Modern-Day Tale Inspired by Hermann Hesse’s Siddhartha’ is his eighth work of fiction.

Strengths, uniqueness, niche points and latest development

Unlike other authors, who usually restrict themselves to one genre, Abhaidev loves exploring topics and fields of all kinds. From penning down a fast-paced, gripping, science-fiction crime thriller, ’13 Minutes Before Midnight’, to writing a visionary, metaphysical and spiritual piece of work, ‘The Gods Are Not Dead’, from publishing a speculative fiction, ‘The Influencer: Speed Must Have a Limit’, to authoring an adsurdist, philosophical fiction, ‘The Meaninglessness of Meaning’, and even a non-fiction titled, ‘India and Beyond: Midnight Meditations’ that covers diverse topics of all kinds, there is nothing that Abhaidev has left untouched. His latest work of fiction is a spiritual one, titled, ‘Anant: A Modern-Day Tale Inspired by Hermann Hesse’s Siddhartha’, which as the name suggests, is an attempt to retell Hermann Hesse’s Classic with a modern Indian setting. With this piece of fiction too, Abhaidev wishes to touch the souls of the readers, especially his loyal admirers, who stay tuned and look forward to reading his upcoming books, every year. He hopes he succeeds in his endeavour.
