Haveli: Where Punjab’s Cultural Past Meets Highway Hospitality

New Delhi, June 14, 2025: In an age of urbanisation and fleeting experiences, Haveli stands tall as a symbol of authenticity and cultural reverence. Chairman Satish Jain founded this Punjabi-themed restaurant chain in 2002, with a vision of changing the highway hospitality experience by combining tradition with modernity. Haveli hotels are not just dining spots but a corridor to Punjab’s heart—its food, heritage, and soul.

The USP of Haveli hotels lies in its cultural placemaking. The interiors boast of Nanakshahi bricks salvaged from centuries-old havelis, to the traditional utensils, bullock carts and phulkari art on the walls. The restaurant takes up around 5 acres on a 20-acre property. Haveli immerses its customers in the rustic past of Punjab. Unlike the many imitators who have tried to replicate the surface-level aesthetics, Haveli’s power lies in its authenticity, a commitment preserved across every outlet.

At its flagship property in Jalandhar, the architecture sprawls over one lakh square feet as a cultural haven on the highway. The property has Rangla Punjab, a themed village that recreates old-world Punjab with interactive craft spaces, folk performances, and traditional marketplaces. From Dal Makhani slow-cooked overnight to Sarson da Saag served with Makki di Roti, the food is rooted in traditional recipes passed down through generations, served with world-class hygiene and hospitality.

Sustainability is more than a buzzword at Haveli—it’s a principle that runs through every layer of the operation. From grey water recycling and solar panels to locally sourced materials and revived traditional techniques, every Haveli outlet is built with the future in mind.

But what truly sets Haveli apart is its emotional connection with the community. “Anyone can copy a structure, but they can’t replicate soul,” says Satish Jain. And it’s this soul—expressed in the warm smiles of the staff, the timeless aroma of Punjabi spices, and the joyful beats of bhangra—that has earned Haveli a loyal following.

Haveli is the original in a market full of copies — a love letter to Punjab’s timeless spirit.
