IDT, India Crafted COVID Garba Dress

Surat, Gujarat : It is for the very first time in the recent history of Gujarat that there will be no garba during the Navratri, which is the real essence of Gujarat.

Navratri symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. These nine days give us a chance to purify negative thoughts and start afresh.

To add flavors to the traditions, the Fashion Designing Students of IDT INDIA have designed a customized COVID Garba Dress which is made of Polypropylene Fabric Approved by SITRA.

Under the guidance of one of our expert faculties- Ms. Aarushi Upreti, the 1st year students of IDT INDIA crafted a COVID Garba look using Hand painting & mirror as embellishments and designed a 2-layer fully protected couple dress on PPE Jumpsuits with Masks & Dandiya Sticks disposable Covers.

The layering has been done in such a way that people can maintain social distancing while they perform GARBA rituals.

Apart from this, they also designed drapes dupatta which can also be made from PPE fabric.

These Garba outfits are very economical, provides full protection and very comfortable to wear & dispose.

The students designed 2 complete pairs of Garba Outfits, which got showcased in VR Surat and highly appreciated by the audience.

Mr. Anupam Goyal (Director of IDT INDIA) expressed- “Since this year govt has banned Garba, hence to add joy amidst the festive season, we will gift these COVID Garba outfits to COVID CARE VOLUNTEERS OF CIVIL HOSPITAL.”
